The ABCs of Book Banning
In recent times, over 2,500 books have been pulled from school districts across the United States, being classified as banned, restricted, or contested, thus denying access to millions of students. This is no coincidence, as the themes under attack are the usual targets of the American Right—LGBTQ+ topics, Black History, and women’s empowerment—hindering the ability of future generations to form their own perspectives on important social matters. Through a poetic montage of young readers and writers, THE ABCs OF BOOK BANNING brings to light the voices of those affected and instills hope for the future with the profound insights of curious young minds.
