The Real Ghostbusters
“The Real Ghostbusters” is an American animated TV series that emerged as a spin-off from the Ghostbusters franchise. Airing from 1986 to 1991, it was a collaborative production by Columbia Pictures Television, DiC Enterprises, and Coca-Cola Telecommunications. The addition of “The Real” to the title was due to a legal conflict with Filmation over its Ghost Busters properties. The show follows the continued escapades of paranormal experts Dr. Peter Venkman, Dr. Egon Spengler, Dr. Ray Stantz, Winston Zeddemore, their secretary Janine Melnitz, and their ghostly mascot, Slimer. Additionally, the series inspired two ongoing comic book adaptations: a monthly edition by Now Comics in the United States and a weekly version by Marvel Comics in the UK, along with a successful toy line produced by Kenner.
