Alex Cross is an exceptionally intelligent yet imperfect character, filled with contradictions. As a devoted father and family man, he becomes intensely focused, almost to the point of obsession, when pursuing murderers. Although he yearns for love, the trauma from his wife’s murder has left him too broken to accept it.
