Dark Tourist
JIM TAHANA might not catch your attention at first glance, but a closer look reveals a deep-seated hunger within him—a relentless craving typical of an unfulfilled American spirit, always on the lookout for something to satiate the mysterious emptiness inside. Jim is consumed by a passion that has been ingrained in him since childhood: grief tourism, the practice of visiting sites of tragedy or disaster. Each year, he dedicates his week-long vacations to exploring locations tied to the lives of serial killers who captivate him. This year, his fixation is on Carl Marznap, a mass murderer from New Orleans, Louisiana. However, this journey is far from a typical holiday, as Jim’s disturbing sexual urges and tenuous grasp on reality spiral into a violent despair. This descent ultimately reveals a horrifying secret lurking within him, leading The Grief Tourist to its grim and shocking conclusion.
