Bobi Wine: The People’s President
Uganda, with its predominantly youthful population and one of the most overtly anti-democratic regimes, is ripe for upheaval. Bobi Wine, a magnetic musician and parliamentarian, along with his wife Barbie Kyagulanyi, are catalysts for change. When Bobi declares his candidacy for the presidency, the nation’s young people are thrilled, flocking to public spaces to hear his speeches and chanting his songs of peace and liberty. However, their movement faces severe repression from Yoweri Museveni, a ruthless autocrat who has held power in Uganda for 36 years. Bobi and his team endure arrests, assaults, torture, riots, and raids.
