The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles
The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles is a U.S. TV series that was broadcast on ABC from March 4, 1992, to July 24, 1993. The filming occurred in various spots around Wilmington, North Carolina, including the UNCW campus. This series was a collaborative effort between Amblin Entertainment, Lucasfilm, and Paramount Network Television.
The narrative delves into the early life and adolescence of the fictional character Indiana Jones, with Sean Patrick Flanery and Corey Carrier portraying the young protagonist. George Hall appears as an older version of Jones in most episodes’ opening and closing segments, while Harrison Ford made a special appearance in one episode. The series was the brainchild of George Lucas, who also served as the executive producer and was involved in creating and co-writing the Indiana Jones movies.
Despite its high production costs, the series was discontinued in 1993. Nevertheless, after its cancellation, four TV movies were made between 1994 and 1996 to try to extend the storyline. In 1999, the series was restructured into 22 TV films, collectively titled The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones.
