Perfect Strangers
“Perfect Strangers” is an American sitcom that aired for eight seasons on the ABC network, from March 25, 1986, to August 6, 1993. Created by Dale McRaven, the show follows the tumultuous relationship between Larry Appleton, a man from the American Midwest, and his distant cousin Balki Bartokomous, who hails from the eastern Mediterranean region of Europe.
The series initially premiered with a brief six-episode run on Tuesdays in the spring of 1986. It then shifted to a prime-time slot on Wednesdays in the fall of the same year, where it stayed until March 1988. At that point, it was moved to Fridays, where it became a cornerstone of ABC’s original TGIF Friday-night lineup. The show also briefly aired on Saturdays in 1992.
