Pray for Rain

When Emma Gardner, a sharp-witted journalist from New York City, discovers her father’s sudden passing, she heads back to her hometown. There, she finds that the once-picturesque farming community she remembers from her youth has been devastated by drought and is now plagued by gangs and severe poverty. It doesn’t take long for her to realize that her father’s death was no accident. The potential culprits range from fervent environmental activists to a local warlord, as well as other farmers envious of her father’s esteemed standing.
